Narrative
DAVENPORT, IA – A 38-year-old male pedestrian died on Sunday when a vehicle struck him along a busy Davenport roadway.
The incident occurred around 9:32 p.m. on North Division Street near Research Parkway. This is just south of Davenport Soccer Complex.
Police say that the pedestrian was walking in the roadway when a southbound SUV hit him, causing fatal injuries. Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased.
It’s unclear if the pedestrian was in a designated crosswalk at the time of the accident. It’s also unclear if the driver of the SUV remained at the scene to render aid and speak with officers.
