Narrative
DENISON, IA – A collision involving two semis northwest of Denison resulted in the death of a Carroll man on Monday afternoon.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 141 and U.S. Highway 59 in Crawford County.
A westbound semi on Highway 141 was struck by a northbound semi on U.S. 59. The impact caused the first semi to come to rest in the northwest ditch, while the second ended up on V Avenue west of the intersection.
The driver of the first semi, 65-year-old Douglas Hook of Carroll, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at Crawford County Memorial Hospital. The driver of the second semi escaped without injuries.
