Narrative
CARROLL CO., IA – A wrong-way crash along a highway in southeast Carroll County seriously injured two people last Wednesday.
The accident happened shortly after 9 a.m. on IA-141 south of Dedham, which is about 80 miles northwest of Des Moines.
Police aren’t yet sure what prompted the driver of a pickup truck to veer into oncoming traffic along the highway. The pickup crashed head-on into a second passenger vehicle.
Medics airlifted both drivers to an area hospital with unknown but serious injuries.
Authorities have identified the wrong-way driver as 34-year-old Joel Maloney and the other driver as 26-year-old Haeleigh Busse.
