Narrative
CENTERVILLE, IA – A 63-year-old man died Saturday evening in a wrong-way crash in central Appanoose County.
The accident happened shortly after 6 p.m. in the area of Highway 2 and North B Street, which is on the northwest side of Centerville.
Police say that an eastbound pickup truck entered the westbound side of the highway and collided head-on with a westbound SUV.
The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Jeffrey Robert Underwood, died at the scene of the wreck.
Medics transported the two occupants of the SUV to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
